If you are currently at Walt Disney World or will be visiting soon, keep an eye to the sky...liner that is. Gondola testing has begun for the highly anticipated Disney Skyliner Transportation System.

Disney released a new video this week giving an update regarding the new gondola transportation system heading to Disney World this fall. The Disney Skyliner Transportation System will transport guests from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four resorts. These resorts include Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resortand the currently under construction Disney’s Riviera Resort. The gondola system will give guests new and unique views of the Walt Disney World Resort sure to provide some great photo opportunities.

Jordan Matthews from Walt Disney Imagineering shared that each station will feature architecture and theming relative to the surrounding environment. For example, the Epcot station will feature architecture from nearby pavilions. Theming will also be the staple of the actual gondola capsules. Several pods will be themed to specific characters, movies and attractions. You will feel as if you are riding with the characters!

Disney Skyliner Transportation System themed gondolas include:

  • “Coco”
  • Goofy, Pete, Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow
  • Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto or Chip & Dale
  • “Beauty & the Beast”
  • “Frozen”
  • “Lilo & Stitch”
  • “Moana”
  • “Peter Pan”
  • “The Princess and the Frog”
  • “Ralph Breaks the Internet”
  • “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”
  • “Zootopia”
  • “Finding Dory”
  • The Haunted Mansion
  • “Monsters, Inc.”

I still am wondering about the air conditioning situation. Just seems like it will be VERY toasty in there. With that said, I am super excited for this! We have reservations at Caribbean Beach in October. Fingers crossed it is open by then.

I am excited! I am always ready for new and exciting things that are released and I am sure that there are tons of clients of mine that are interested to get more details about using this new method of transportation while visiting Disney! They look super cute and fun! I cannot wait to see them in action!
